While scouring through Pinterest one night I came across the beautiful shop HIMO ART I instantly fell in love.  The shop is owned by an amazing CA based artist who creates the most beautiful macramé wall art, i'm a little obsessed with them right now. Be sure to have a peek at all her other designs, they do not disappoint.

Happy holidays! I hope you have had a great season, I still can't believe 2014 is so close.  This year has gone so fast and so much has happened! If you follow my instagram you may have seen we are expecting again, hence my lack of being around much for the past few months. Things have now eased up and I have so much coming to Gypsie Sister in the new year.  What did you do over the holidays season, how do you celebrate?  After four days of partying today is finally a welcomed day of rest, we plan on staying home and doing nothing! Just the antidote for a busy holiday aftermath.

I'm still here! life has been so crazy recently there has been a lot going on.  I'm getting so excited for the holidays this year, generally my festive spirit kicks in during December but this year I was ready November 1st! I have managed to hold out but I cant wait to get decorating the house. When do you get festive? do you decorate early?

The nights are drawing in quickly now,  though some days still have that little bit of warmth lurking.  Autumn nights are perfect for lighting candles and spending the evening with a good book. I'm a bit of a sucker for a scented candle!  I love having seasonal ones around but always have fresh leafy scented candles whatever the season, as I love to light them while doing my yoga and meditating.  Here are a few I currently have my eye on, each one would certainly have a place in my home.

It's time to start making plans for my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, looking for a few great key pieces to get started for the colder months ahead.
I got the opportunity to collaborate with Surfdome an amazing on-line shop with some of my favourite brands all in one space.  Perfect!
I have always been a Roxy and Billabong girl they are two brands I often go back to, having seen the Roxy clouds top and falling in love with it I figured it would make a great layer up with its cutout/devore style design.
I spent ages looking around at all the gorgeous tops, shoes and clothes needless to say my list is growing! above are some pieces that I think are perfect for the seasons ahead, seeing these make me want to wrap up cosy and head to the coast for a walk, collect driftwood and enjoy beach fire pit, autumn heaven!

I am delighted and honoured to be here in the Gypsie Sister space today! Thank you Zoe, for opening your doors to me.

My name is Leah Kent, and I am a teacher, maker, designer, and the founder of Skill It. I am also one half of the team offering "Feathering the Nest" an e-course to guide you through making your house in to a cosy nurturing home. My co-creator and co-teacher in this project is Stephanie Perkinson, of Wellness by Design, a certified holistic health and lifestyle coach.

When Stephanie and I met we recognised that we are kindred spirits in every sense. We instantly bonded over our shared love of art, design, sewing and finding small and simple ways to breath more beauty and soul into our living spaces. We think that the things you choose to surround yourself have a profound effect on your body , mind and spirit.

When our homes are in balance we create and environment that nourishes us from the inside out. Spaces that are arranged to enhance the flow of energy and are accented with the things of beauty that we truly cherish bring us joy. This supports us in all of our other pursuits, like parenting, work, creative expression and community activities. Stephanie and I both believe that when our homes reflect our souls true desires, it amplifies them and you feel more relaxed, supported and alive. And when we also believe that creating that kind of sanctuary is something we can all do if we follow our intuition and hearts.

In Feathering the Nest we want to guide you to finding ways for your home not to only reflect the beauty inside of you, but to nurture and give back to you, in a way that transform how you move through each day. This class is an eclectic two-week journey  through your home, a sensual path to self-discovery. We will be creating a beautiful things for our homes with our own hands, getting cosy with intuitive writing exercises and cooking up some delicious recipes, You will also receive beautiful print outs to use over as you hone your nesting style.

Because the journey is so meaningful when we share it with others, Feathering the Nest includes membership in a sacred on-line space to share your experience, pictures and inspiration with kindred souls.

Whether your space is large or small, rented or owned, we think you are going to love learning how to infuse each corner with your essence to create a sanctuary for you and all who inhabit it. If you'd like to learn more about the class that starts on 30th September just click here.
