...

I am delighted and honoured to be here in the Gypsie Sister space today! Thank you Zoe, for opening your doors to me.

My name is Leah Kent, and I am a teacher, maker, designer, and the founder of Skill It. I am also one half of the team offering "Feathering the Nest" an e-course to guide you through making your house in to a cosy nurturing home. My co-creator and co-teacher in this project is Stephanie Perkinson, of Wellness by Design, a certified holistic health and lifestyle coach.

When Stephanie and I met we recognised that we are kindred spirits in every sense. We instantly bonded over our shared love of art, design, sewing and finding small and simple ways to breath more beauty and soul into our living spaces. We think that the things you choose to surround yourself have a profound effect on your body , mind and spirit.

When our homes are in balance we create and environment that nourishes us from the inside out. Spaces that are arranged to enhance the flow of energy and are accented with the things of beauty that we truly cherish bring us joy. This supports us in all of our other pursuits, like parenting, work, creative expression and community activities. Stephanie and I both believe that when our homes reflect our souls true desires, it amplifies them and you feel more relaxed, supported and alive. And when we also believe that creating that kind of sanctuary is something we can all do if we follow our intuition and hearts.

In Feathering the Nest we want to guide you to finding ways for your home not to only reflect the beauty inside of you, but to nurture and give back to you, in a way that transform how you move through each day. This class is an eclectic two-week journey  through your home, a sensual path to self-discovery. We will be creating a beautiful things for our homes with our own hands, getting cosy with intuitive writing exercises and cooking up some delicious recipes, You will also receive beautiful print outs to use over as you hone your nesting style.

Because the journey is so meaningful when we share it with others, Feathering the Nest includes membership in a sacred on-line space to share your experience, pictures and inspiration with kindred souls.

Whether your space is large or small, rented or owned, we think you are going to love learning how to infuse each corner with your essence to create a sanctuary for you and all who inhabit it. If you'd like to learn more about the class that starts on 30th September just click here.

  2. This course looks amazing. We have an extra bedroom that we have been saving for a nursery. Seven years later, and tons of fertility treatments later that may never happen for us. I am ready to let it go, and make a new, cozy space for us.

  6. My favorite thing about Autumn would have to be the colour of the leaves. I also love a crisp frosty morning where everything looks so beautiful with the glistening ice shiny on it. (crochet addictuk)

  7. I love the day when you finally walk out of your front door, realize that it's not just foggy (here, at least), but that there's also enough of a chill in the morning air that you'll have to dig out that FAVORITE sweater -- you know the one: the one where the hems are frayed and there's more than a few pulled threads but it bags in all the right places and feels like a giant hug made out of yarn? That one. That moment. Best part of Fall.
